A Board Game the Opposite of Boring. . . for the Spy in Your Life

Spy Alley is an interesting board game because it’s very competitive, and sometimes sneaky. It’s recommended for ages 8 and up, and this made sense to me since I was 8 years old when I started to play.

Here’s how the fast-paced game works: In Spy Alley, each player has a personal identity card that they cannot show anyone (or else, the player who saw your identity card would guess which spy you are). The characters in the game include French, Italian, German, Spanish, Russian, and American spies. You move your spies around on game pieces shaped like horses.

At any point in the game, players can guess somebody else’s identity. If your suspicion is correct, then the person (aka the spy) you guessed would be out of the game. If however, your guess is wrong, then you are out of the game. The funnest part for me was landing on the “Spy Eliminator” spot on the board – this gives you a pass to guess anyone’s identity without a penalty.
